Greg Rotzell
Director of Membership

Greg grew up in Havertown, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia. After high school he attended James Madison University. Greg has been at Woodmore since October 2016. Before coming to Woodmore he worked for the Tiger Woods Foundation and Quicken Loans National in Bethesda, Maryland. Previously he had worked for the Travelers Championship up in Hartford, Connecticut. He currently resides in Arlington, Virginia.

Brandon Meadows 
Director of Golf

A native to Montgomery County, Brandon started in 2006 as an outside service member with Little Bennett Golf Course in Clarksburg, Maryland. In 2011, Brandon and his fiance moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado and he began his apprenticeship with the PGA. After proving himself worth the responsibilities that were saw fit, he was announced as the Department Head of Golf with Colorado Ski and Golf. Through hardwork and dedication, he managed to achieve many successes with Colorado Ski and Golf and while working as an Assistant Golf Professional with Kings Deer Golf Club in Monument, Colorado. In 2013, he accepted a position from a neighboring mentor from Colorado as the Assistant Golf Professional with Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona, Arizona. After a year into the adventures in Sedona, it became clear that the path he was pursuing in this industry was something he truly had a passion and drive for. In 2014, he and his fiance made a move back to their hometown because of a family emergency and it was then that he accepted the First Assistant Golf Professional position with this beautiful Club. It was during this position that he learned the great importance of the little things. After leaving Woodmore for a great opportunity with Bethesda Country Club, he was later offered an opportunity that he could have only hoped for in the near future. At this point in his life, his commitment and passion for this industry has led him through several great opportunities amongst outstanding PGA Professionals and has created a motivation within himself to surpass the competition.

Corey Landon
Director of Grounds

 Corey Landon, GCSAA Class A, resides in Baltimore, MD. Corey has been with the club since 2012 as the Assistant Superintendent following his completion of The Pennsylvania State Golf Course Turf Management Program. Previously, Corey spent a summer with Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, MD as an intern during the 2011 season when they hosted the Men’s U.S Open. Corey’s Wife, Rebecca, is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry Hygiene Program. They have two soft coated Wheaton terriers, Poa and Mia, who ride alongside Corey throughout the course.

Tasman Winston 
Director of Events & Catering

My name is Tasman Winston and I was born and raised in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. I gained my experience working for Joint-Base Pearl Harbor Hickam as an Event Manager for the U.S. Air Force. During the planning process of my wedding I came across The Country Club at Woodmore. I fell in love with the venue and ended up marrying the love of my life here. I have now come full circle in starting the next phase of my life doing what I love with an organization that was part of bringing love to my life. I cannot express how excited and grateful I am to be a part of the Woodmore team. 

Ray Chen 
Director of Operations

Ray Chen is the Director of Operations at the Country Club at Woodmore. Prior to this position at the club he was the Executive Chef for three years. A member of the American Culinary Federation he has held the Executive Chef position at The Residences at Thomas Circle and The Marine Club, executive sous chef at Indian Spring Country Club and banquet chef for Marriott, Gaithersburg. Ray’s formal education was The Airforce Academy, Taiwan. He served as an officer for 5 years. His passion and love of food and beverage first developed when he worked on a ship in hospitality, before moving to Pennsylvania to own his restaurant in the Lehigh Valley he was the General Manager of a 350 seat night club in the Hotel Roosevelt in New York City.

When not at the club Ray enjoys wine, taking walk with his dog Tuwa and cruising or exploring the US. He resides in Montgomery County with his wife and has two sons and a grandson.

Justin Chen
Executive Chef

Justin Chen is the Executive Chef at the Country Club at Woodmore. Prior to this position at the club he was the Sous Chef for two years. A member of the American Culinary Federation he was the Executive Sous Chef and kitchen manager at Corked Wine Bar and Steak House in Bethlehem, PA. Justin grew up in the restaurant business and worked almost every position in the back of the house as well as front of the house. He trained with his dad, Ray and could be found standing on a milk crate washing dishes which is how he earned the name “Short Chef”. Justin studied audio engineering at Audio Institute of Research in New York City. However, it wasn’t long until his passion for food lead him right back to hospitality industry.

When not at the club Justin enjoys relaxing at home, playing with his dog Chopstix or traveling.

Justin Thompson

Justin Thompson has over 8+ years in the Hospitality Industry. Justin's start in this industry was when he was just 15 years old as the Park Train Operator at Six Flags Great America. This was a great experience that taught him how to provide a long-lasting hospitality experience. Justin soon went to college and had such a great time with Six Flags that he wanted to study the world of Hospitality. Justin was accepted at the illustrious University of Maryland Eastern Shore where he received his Bachelor's in Hotel and Restaurant Management. While at the University Justin has the distinct pleasure of having three prestigious internships with Aramark Corporation, one of the leading hospitality services organizations in the world. Justin interned at The University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, The National Conference Center in Leesburg, VA, and the Citigroup Executive Conference Center in New York, NY. These internships fully prepared Justin to be a stellar manager of hospitality operations. Since graduating college Justin has had the honor to work for Nandos Peri-Peri (Fast Casual Restaurant Chain) as their Lead Trainer and Front of the House attendant and most recently for Carr Workplaces (Executive Office Suites) as a Community Manager I & II and the Human Resources Executive Assistant. Justin has a staunch passion for providing a world class experience hospitality experience.

Justin Simons
Assistant Golf Professional

Justin Simons was born and raised on the island of Turks & Caicos. During his teenage years, he had a great interest in this great game of golf and he has been participating in its activities and competitions for over 15 years now. As he has played golf for some time, he thoroughly enjoys giving tips to those in need in order to help them love and respect this game as much as he has over the year. He has been teaching for just over seven years now and his passion is to teach and help others learn the basics and certain tricks that they can hold onto in order to enjoy the game more than ever before. This is done by dedication and commitment which in turn, allows them to play better golf as well as develop a better understanding for the game. While working towards his PGA Certification, he aspires to be a well-rounded Professional throughout his career. Each day, he will look to compete and encourage those around him with a focus on beginners and the youth of the game.

Matt Miller
Assistant Golf Professional

Matt Miller started working as part of the golf industry in 2009 when he was 15 years of age as a caddie at Berkshire Country Club in Reading, Pennsylvania. After graduating high school, he decided to pursue his interest in the golf and enrolled into the Professional Golf Management Program at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. During his first internship, he decided to stay close to home and it was then, he earned a 3-month internship at Hershey Country Club as part of the Outside Golf Operations Staff. In this position, he learned about providing high quality customer service as well as learning how a country club runs a cart operation. This education further expanded his knowledge of the industry and how to provide the country club experience to its members and guests. After his second year, he chose not to return to Methodist due to family concerns however, he decided to continue working at his second internship as an Assistant Golf Professional at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. There he learned how to run golf tournaments, how to manage a cart staff, as well as learning the differences between a public and private golf operation. After working there for a year, he decided he needed to finish his education and decided to attend the Professional Golfer’s Career College in Hilton Head, South Carolina. This turned out to be a great decision due to the contacts he met and the education he received both at the college as well as working at Berkeley Hall Club, one of the most prestigious country clubs in Hilton Head, as part of their Outside Operations team. Every year they host The Players Amateur which is a premier amateur event in the United States and he was extremely proud to be a part of that. The experiences he has endured over his career thus far has allowed him to expand his knowledge of this great industry, grow as a true Professional and has allowed him to value and respect every aspect that makes a Club a success.

My name is Serkaddis Zewdie but everybody knows me as Tatu. I was born and raised in Ethiopia,
East Africa and have lived in the US for the last 30 plus years. I am a Howard University graduate with a degree in Microbiology. I am happily married with two college age sons. I love cooking and dancing as well as watching the sunset.
